Major League Baseball has selected Polymarket as its exclusive official prediction market partner, granting the platform access to MLB branding, official data via Sportradar, and exposure across league channels. The multi-year agreement follows similar deals struck by the National Hockey League and Major League Soccer with prediction market platforms.
MLB Commissioner Robert Manfred also signed a memorandum of understanding with the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, creating a formal channel for confidential information-sharing to protect the integrity of professional baseball and its related markets. Designated representatives from both organizations will meet regularly to monitor potential threats.
Central to the Polymarket deal is a shared integrity framework restricting markets tied to individual pitches, managerial decisions, or umpire performance. Polymarket will embed these controls into its U.S. rulebook, applying uniform standards to all its brokers.
MLB also intends to establish integrity relationships with all other prediction market platforms offering baseball contracts, requiring each to adopt appropriate protections. The announcement comes amid broader legislative and regulatory scrutiny of the prediction market industry.
