AI Personality of the Year 2026 Competition Launches

Quick Summary: OpenArt and Fanvue are offering over $90,000 in prizes for their AI Personality of the Year 2026 competition, running through April 19.

OpenArt and Fanvue have launched a four-week global competition called AI Personality of the Year 2026, offering a total prize pool exceeding $90,000. The challenge is open through April 19 and invites creators to design and debut original AI influencers across five categories: Entertainer, Lifestyle Influencer, Comedian, Fitness, and Anime/Cartoon/Fantasy. Weekly winners receive $200 in cash along with a platform shoutout, while larger prizes await those who advance further in the competition.

The grand prize winner takes home $6,000 in cash and $2,000 in paid promotion, along with priority placement on Fanvue and enrollment in affiliate programs run by both organizers. Track finalists also receive prizes, with first place in each category earning $5,000 in cash and $1,000 in promotional exposure, and third-place finalists receiving $1,000 in cash. Two fan-voted awards — Most Viral Video and Audience Choice — contribute an additional $1,000 each to the overall pool.

To enter, participants must build their character using OpenArt, launch a public TikTok or Instagram account for the persona, post at least four times during the competition window, and tag @OpenArt_AI, @Fanvue, and #AIPersonality2026. ElevenLabs serves as the founding sponsor of the event. The ambassador lineup features some of the most widely followed AI personalities currently active online, signaling that competition is expected to be intense.

The judging panel consists of 11 human judges, a deliberate contrast to the Miss AI beauty pageant held in 2024, where two of the four judges were themselves AI-generated influencers. The panel includes a 13-time Emmy-winning comedy writer, a co-founder from the public relations industry, and a marketing agency executive. Judging criteria span quality, originality, brand appeal, and social engagement through a points-based system, meaning audience turnout matters as much as visual polish.

Several judges are themselves creators of prominent AI personalities. Diana Núñez Morales, who developed Aitana — a Barcelona-based AI model reported to earn up to €10,000 per month in brand deals — is among the panelists. Cameron Wilson, creator of Shudu, widely regarded as the world’s first digital supermodel, and Christopher Townsend, who built Solomon Ray, are also on the panel. Their firsthand experience building successful AI personas positions them to evaluate entries with considerable expertise.

The competition arrives as the virtual influencer market continues to expand rapidly. The sector was valued at approximately $6 billion in 2024 and is projected to reach nearly $46 billion by 2030. AI companions and personas have grown increasingly convincing, with numerous Instagram accounts now dedicated to identifying influencers who go viral without disclosing their artificial nature. OpenArt’s platform covers character creation, image generation, video production, and ElevenLabs-powered audio in a single suite.

The challenge began on Monday, with final winners set to be announced in May. As tutorials on building and monetizing AI influencers continue to proliferate across YouTube, TikTok, and creator newsletters, the competition represents a formal talent search within a rapidly maturing virtual influencer economy.
