Morgan Stanley has amended its Bitcoin ETF application, naming Fidelity as an additional custodian alongside The Bank of New York Mellon and Coinbase Custody Trust Company. The updated filing confirms the fund will list on NYSE Arca under the ticker MSBT.
The Morgan Stanley Bitcoin Trust will offer a fee waiver on the first $5 billion invested during its initial six months. The bank originally registered the fund in January alongside a Morgan Stanley Solana Trust, though the Solana filing has not been updated since its initial submission.
Morgan Stanley has been expanding its crypto ambitions more broadly. Digital assets strategy head Amy Oldenburg stated in February that the firm intends to develop proprietary Bitcoin custody and trading services internally. The bank, which manages nearly $9 trillion in client assets, also filed for an Ethereum ETF in January, a filing that similarly remains unchanged.
